To pay a high price is a whole medical system, to the point that healthcare could become a privilege for the few: there is lack of equipment and facilities, specialists, medications, particularly in the regions most affected by the violence.\u00a0As in\u00a0N\u0101\u1e63iriya<\/b>, a city located in southern\u00a0Iraq<\/b>, where children are the ones being sacrificed by a global system of insecurity and\u00a0poor healthcare<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>

The portraits, by\u00a0Luca Catalano Gonzaga,\u00a0<\/b>are taken in\u00a0Habobbi Hospital in N\u0101\u1e63iriya\u00a0<\/b>and show their faces before entering the operating room, all marked by deformities of the body and facial burns caused by domestic accidents or even worse, by unexploded ordnance still scattered across the country.<\/p>

These\u00a0portraits are\u00a0part of a wider\u00a0photographic project\u00a0<\/b>called\u00a0A shameless life<\/i><\/span><\/a>.<\/i><\/span><\/p>

The project is currently active and is funded by the\u00a0<\/i>Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation<\/i><\/b>\u00a0and supported for the logistics aspects by<\/i>\u00a0Emergenza Sorrisi Onlus.<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p><\/div>
